Wasabi and Shichimi Pretz

Two new Pretz flavours

A quick trip to the local grocery store uncovered two new flavours of Pretz! Wasabi and Shichimi flavours. The new box designs look pretty cool, with ingredients highlighted brightly on the front.

七味 (Shichimi) directly translates to seven flavour, and is a type of seasoning composed of seven different types of flavours. According to Wikipedia, a typical mixture is made up of: red chili, Sichuan pepper, orange peel, black sesame, white sesame, hemp seed, ginger and nori.

Shichimi Pretz is flavourful with just enough spice to tickle the taste buds. It tastes just like the container of Shichimi I have and the biscuit adds a kind of cheesy taste, which kind of makes the Pretz taste like a spicy cheese.

わさび (Wasabi) Pretz tastes EXACTLY like wasabi peas, with the texture of Pretz. So if you like wasabi peas and Pretz, then this is perfect for you.

A super strong whiff of wasabi (or horseradish) fills your nose the second you take your first bite. I’m personally not too big of a fan of wasabi, but like wasabi peas, it would be pretty good once in a while.
